BUILDING THE MACHINE – The Common Core Documentary

Did you know that Dr. Milgram and Dr. Stotsky were the only mathematics and English language arts content specialists on the 30 person validation committee?

Did you know that 5 members of the 30 member validation committee did NOT sign the confidentiality agreement?

Did you know, when the report was released regarding the validation committee’s findings, the 5 who did not sign the confidentiality agreement were completely left off?

So, 2 of 30 are actual qualified educators in the fields Common Core supposedly addresses, and 5 of the 30 on the validation committee have been expunged from the record because they didn’t sign the confidentiality agreement. Neither Milgram or Stotsky approved the standards put forth in the validation committee.

“Building the Machine” introduces the public to the Common Core States Standards Initiative (CCSSI) and its effects on our children’s education. The documentary compiles interviews from leading educational experts, including members of the Common Core Validation Committee. Parents, officials, and the American public should be involved in this national decision regardless of their political persuasion.

By 2011, 45 States had officially adopted the Common Core Standards. Yet by 2013, 62% of Americans said they had never heard of the Common Core.

Common Core is saying we cannot remediate. But instead, we have to give them credit bearing courses. So how do we do that? Well, the credit bearing courses are going to drop in content to meet the requirements.

In other words, we are not creating smarter kids….we are lowering the bar to inflate the results.
